reviews:
"I wanted to make this house coat because it’s hand stitched, didn’t have to buy a pattern, got to use materials I already possessed as a “craft person”, recycled some materials in to its construction and it actually fits. I’ve done minimal hand sewing, usually using a machine or making a very small hand sewn project. (I knit a lot). This was my first attempt at a fully hand stitched article of clothing. What I was not prepared for was the time I got to invest in self examination while I was stitching. The examination of my environment both externally, the priorities of how I value time, and internally…meditation of thoughts, capturing, releasing, how the stitches reflected my emotions so often, with sizing and speed and also how the emotions were able to be worked through during the process of stitching. This guidebook created by this wonderful human being is so much more than just a pattern. It’s an opportunity for exploration that you can take to whatever depth you’d like. I cannot thank you enough for this experience."
"This pattern was so satisfying to make, the design process and the fact that it is self drafted made it engaging and interesting to make as someone pretty familiar with sewing but also definitely approachable for a beginner who is confidently creative and likes to learn as they go. Years ago when I was just beginning sewing more dynamic projects I would have loved this just as much as I did today.
With lots of information, written instructions and lots of pictures it was easy to understand each step and the construction progressed smoothly. I felt well armed and prepared for each part and didn't find myself having to make leaps or assumptions to fill in gaps. I cannot overstate how cool and enjoyable the process of sewing was. I usually don't enjoy the actual sewing part of sewing. I tend to sew as a means to a creative end more than for love of the process. This project was different, I found myself genuinely enjoying each step, The construction process itself was so organic and creatively stimulating that I found myself caught up in the unfolding and I didn't want it to end. If you are looking for a creatively engaging project to remind you why you love fibre arts so much this is it!"

notes:
・there is no printable pattern inside this pdf file - this is a guidebook that walks you through pattern drafting your house jacket shape, to finishing your house jacket.
・if you are printing this book, I recommend printing it in colour for optimum use of the reference images, and double sided if possible.
・gumroad works by a sliding scale payment system. the minimum price is set to $17USD, but the suggested price of the guidebook is around $23USD. you can choose your price based on what you can afford and what you think the guidebook is worth.
・for my Canadian house jacket guidebook folks: that I would have preferred to have my book listed in CAD but most platforms charge an extra conversion fee to have my work sold in CAD. the price listed in USD is the same amount that I would have sold it in CAD (approximately $22cad for the minimum price and $30cad for the recommended price).
